I remember that name.  He attended IMG for a football season and returned back home.  Seems the Sooners were digging him early on in the process and he visited the school a few times and that was that.

With his frame I’d guess guard or center at Oklahoma. Is he playing LT in HS now?  Or Maybe RT?

They had him listed like this last year  -  G,T

From Longview.  Does anybody know much about this kid?

That is 2021 Longview RB Kaden Meredith. Special talent.

Longview is fairly loaded this year, which is why they are my early pick to win 6A D2. Not only do they have 14 starters back from a semis team, they have good young talent from 19-1 combined subvarsity record moving up to fill in holes or add depth and Meredith is one of them.

Offensively they may be unstoppable, they return 11 starters on that side of the ball which includes 2020 QB Haynes King (6'3 180) who already has 3 D1 offers. https://247sports.com/Player/Haynes-King-46049892

He isn't short of targets either. 2019 WR's Kamden Perry (6'0 176) and Jacob Johnson (6'1 181) also return.

https://247sports.com/Player/Kamden-Perry-46052916  |  https://247sports.com/Player/Jacob-Johnson-46052917

TE Randall (6'0 200) returns as well, they also add 2020 WR Kaden Kearbey (6'1 170) to the mix from subvarsity.

They have 2019 RB's Keilyn Williams and Jessie Anderson (6'0 230) back in the backfield. Anderson's recruitment stock is growing, he'd have offers had he not missed majority of 2017 season due to injury. https://247sports.com/Player/Jessie-Anderson-46052915

Williams is a smaller scat back who filled in for/complimented Anderson. He's small physically, but is very talented. Had 1900 total yards in 2017. You add Meredith to the backfield and that creates a ridiculous situation.

Longview may have one of the better O-Line's in the state. They return all 5, including 2019 LT Marcus Williams (6'7 285) who is a TCU commit. https://247sports.com/player/marcus-williams-46047169

Defensively, the only thing they are really replacing is 3 spots in the secondary. The other spots they are "replacing" is being filled by players who were in heavy rotation at those positions already and they still have 2019 players like LB Ja'Vontae Writt, LB/DL Cam Starling and S Jephaniah Lister https://247sports.com/Player/Jephaniah-Lister-46052757

Several names to get to know in their 2020 class on the defensive side of the ball too like DL John Goram-Welch (6'4 260)

They have a strong senior class mixed with good young underclassmen. If they can stay healthy, Longview is your 6A D2 champs in 2018 IMO.

Wish we could see LT vs LV Part III. LT is loaded this year.

I agree Longview should be really good this year.  Coach is one of the best too.

LV will be very good, I'd say LT will be better.

Allen and LT are your top tier teams IMO. They're 1 and 2 which is interchangeable.

Then in that next tier is North Shore, Euless Trinity, Katy and Longview.

The tier after that, SLC, Klein Collins, Judson, Duncanville and Westlake.

But everything is shaping up for Longview to make another D2 run. Majority of the teams I'm mentioning are probably D1 bound.

HC John King is a monster.

He has accumulated a 152-36 (78-6) record in 14 seasons as Longview's HC. Has played for 2 state championships in that time as well. Also won a state championship when he was in HS so winning is his entire background.

I hope so Beast Texas has been lacking in 5A and 6A winning Titles.  I understand the difficulty with 4 teams mainly in the Pine Woods.  Hoping Lobo's represent for sure.  One of the best Fanbase's in Texas.

San Angelo Central's first day of spring practice from Monday. Led by elite QB Maverick McIvor.

Good stuff shady, looking to see how you all and Trinity match up.  SACs passing attack vs ETs physical ground n pound.  I hope you guys have some beef along the DL

Looks beefier than last year at least. Last year we had tiny DEs. A DE going with the ones right now, who I think is a sophomore, is maybe 6'2" 240+. There's a 2020 DT who is 6'2"-6'3" 280-290 or so and is quick and fast. Looking for an answer at MLB though from what I've heard. We had a really good 6'1" 250 DL/MLB (although he started at LT for us as a soph) move away after his sophomore year who played at Bishop Dunne in 2017. Then he moved back here for the spring semester. But I just noticed today he was recently put on the Cibolo Steele roster on Maxpreps and Hudl... Sure could have used him at DL or MLB. Honestly it's pretty unlikely we'll be able to match up with ET physically. San Angelo is basically Weatherford with elite coaching.

Nah, that's too much moving for my taste, I wouldn't want anyone like that.  He needs to settle down, unless this move is truly family driven.

jumping out on ET early is key and make them earn their yards.(totally sell out on run defense)  They start getting ten yards a pop, it's tough sailing for defenses.

I think it's out of his hands and he wants to be a Bobcat. Not sure what's up with all the family moving. His big brother was a senior when he was a soph and played here all the way through and is now a CB at Trinity Valley CC.

@Horsefly and @Texasball  A lot of track talk.  Now these are 3 that made it to Regionals in Track. Imagine how many participated that didn't make Regionals since only the top two from the Area Meets go to the Regionals.  Track is big with our Football players.

Lister is one of two Lobos on the defense who will compete in the Class 6A, Region II track meet later this week in Waco, joining cornerbacks Tainique Taylor and Keilan Carr.

That’ll just make Lister’s return to the football field that much sweeter.

“I’m excited about what we’ve done on the track this season and it’s amazing getting the chance to go to regionals,” Lister said. “But I’m ready to get back out there.

ET Football: Energy high as Lobos hit the field for spring football

Same thing next door at Kilgore

Kilgore's Jonathan Shepherd will be making the trek to the UIL state track meet in three events each after strong showings at their respective regional meets on Saturday.

400 relay: Kilgore (Jackson, Isaac, Shepherd, Smith),  41.64 (Fast as heck for some Piney Woods country boys.

Shepherd, an Oklahoma State football signee, will compete in the 4A meet in the 400-meter relay and took the gold in the 100-meter and 200-meter runs
