I am mostly in agreement with you. The political system is, indeed, broken. A true democracy would have better choices than this. But our economic system is almost as broken. Combine the two and we have a toxic brew. If I were young and idealistic, I would stay and fight for what's right regardless of whether it was within an existing party or whether I joined with like minded people to come up with something better. But I am old and cynical; hence, I have chosen to hightail it out of here before the s##xt hits the fan.
