No they wouldn't, there is not a team in OH that would blow their doors off.  Beat them?  Possibly but not blow them out any year.  You do realize Desoto beat much better versions of Trinity teams with ease and shut down their run game.

colerain struggled a few years ago with Cocoa for crying out loud.

First, Trinity's run game is nothing like Colerains run game.  Trinity typically has better offensive lineman than Colerain does but their run game is simple where as Colerain's option comes at you from multiple sets.  Second Desoto offense would play right into what Colerain shuts down and that is trying to go over the top or beat them with athleticism.  Colerain is not one of the GCL schools where they don't have great athletes in the secondary.  Colerain has big athletes all throughout the secondary and are as coached up as they come.

Second Cocoa plays better defense than Desoto.  Cocoa plays better defense than everyone in Texas for that matter excluding Katy.

There has been discussion lately about teams being on certain tiers, with speculation on how large the gaps are between tiers.  After 2 weeks of football we can now begin to place the teams on tiers.  Based on much research via pouring over recruiting tapes, watching the teams live, and good gut feelings, I now submit the tiers. (not listing all the Texas teams due to being unfamiliar).  This is not an attempt to list EVERY team, but only selected teams, any you guys can submit nominees to add to the tiers

Tier 1:  Can compete with anyone in the Country

Mater Dei, SJB, STA, SJC, DLS, De Matha, SJR, BG, Allen, De Soto, Cen10*, IMG

*healthy QB.  Will adjust pending outcome of Dr. report

Tier 2:  Won't stay within 21 points of Tier 1

Grayson, Bergen Catholic, OLU,  Mission Viejo, Colerain, St. X, Bingham, Chandler, SFA, AHP, Lowndes, Trinity*,  John Curtis, Union

Tier 3:  would be -10 vs Tier 2 teams

DBP, Jserra, Servite, Santa Margarita, Colquitt County, SJP, Poly, Mountain Pointe. Miami Central, C-HIll, East. St. Mary's,  Chaminade, Byrnes, Punahu, Serra, Cartersville

Tier 4:  would be -10 vs. Tier 3 teams

Folsom, Valdosta, De Paul, Paraclete

SOOOOOOO, only four teams in the entire state of Georgia, are getting ANY LUUUUUUUUUUUUV from you? What about Buford, Carrollton, and Tucker?

Tier 5!!!!

You TOUGH GUYS from Jersey, just be content with playing with yourownselfs, and leave the REAL teams to the main event! As you MAY know, in 2018, the Colquitt County PUBLIC SCHOOL Packers will be attempting to address the pesky issue, of filling six non region slots! In the immortal words of that fine Amuuurican, Tom Bodet of Motel Two, "We'll leave the light on for you!"

Please host a NJ team. GSB will make it happen

I like this way of ranking teams.

It seems like there are course-grained distinctions reasonable and informed people ((that's (some of) us)) can reliably track even if we can't reliably track more fine-grained distinctions.

And we might find broader consensus because of it: we might all agree about who belongs in the top tier, the second tier, etc., even if continue to disagree about who should be no 1 or no 25 etc.

Oh really I think Desoto would beat down Coelrain most any years and especially last year. I'm mean Colerain is a good team but I really believe they would never have won the Texas championship even on the their best years.

And Texas was the king of the rushing attack up until around 2000 when the run only game became mostly inept in the big picture. I say schedule Allen or Desoto or even SLC.  Ohio IMO is equal total to about one of Texas 4 regions. I think Ohio has a Aledo there in Colerain and would challenge for a 5a championship here in Texas.

Your a fool if you think Texas doesn't play defense. Now Trinity is another story it looks like they have turned in to a scrub team now that Lineweaver has left and they don't have any business playing OOS at this time against the best from the nation. I hate to see them ruin the great OOS record that Lineweaver teams built.

Texas plays defense... not very well though. Every state plays defense, they have to.

I think you know that no state would even come close to Texas by matching 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2 and so on down the list.

Most states have a few cheaters at the top that are recruiting far and wide and then nothing a few down the list. Texas is genuine and can play ball far down the list.  Texas Pride. !
