No top 10 team plays 8 close games and loses another one. No, you'll keep thinking you're doing a great job and proving a point in your mind When West Monroe, La beat 5A Texas Champ Midland Lee 38-6 in 2000.......Midland Lee ended #8 at USA Today with 2 losses. Take it up with the people doing the polls. Your agenda remains the same and hasn't changed. A team losing to Odessa isn't finishing top 10 in the country anymore. The days of just penciling in a state Champ from insert state have gone down a lot 20 years ago they would've inserted the Louisiana champ into the top 25 no questions asked. Today, not so much

Those Midland Lee, Odessa, Odessa Permian teams had some intense rivalry games back in those days..........good, if not better than Jenks/Union showdowns in Oklahoma. BUT, why should I explain that to you. You have only one thing on your mind and it's why you started the thread!

Odessa stunk Who cares that they beat Duncanville in 2000. Is that supposed to mean something?

It means Duncanville did not win state in 2000 like they did in 1998. Duncanville has always had ATHs, steeler01....because they have a few more this year is no reason to make a fool out of yourself. Odessa and Midland Lee played for the 100th time last year. I've grown tired of educating you, steeler01. Carry on with whatever you are trying to prove.....try to do it with more facts though and less opinions or "what you think you know". It's not much! ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Rivalries like Odessa Permian vs. Midland Lee or Permian vs. Odessa receive all the attention, but as far as sheer history, Odessa vs Midland is unmatched. On Friday, the Bronchos and Bulldogs will meet on the field for the 100th time. That’s right, a full century of football games. Even more crazy? This series is basically even. Midland has won 50 of the games, while Odessa has won 49. https://www.cbs7.com/2020/10/20/odessa-and-midland-football-teams-meet-for-100th-time-this-week/

You know why because Odessa has never been important in football. A local rivalry now that's all that is

Both games against a team that would win Texas 6A almost any year you put them in
