2001 Lufkin had the #1 rated QB in the nation. Kid was a beast, ran like a 4.35 forty.

Wait, RedZone......they had internet back then. 😃

5* QB Reggie McNeal

https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2002/reggie-mcneal-11299

Who is the QB at Duncanville this year....oh yeah, no one really knows his name. Duncanville bullies a weak schedule with a no name QB and California goes crazy.

.............................................."message baords....................................................

Not a peep!

You have to love "message boards"

Exactly, much much tougher than the Duncanville schedule.

You wouldn't know that though. You've only been following football since the "internet age"

Much tougher based off of what?

None of their regular season opponents from Texas made the 3rd round.  Desoto would've been the toughest opponent in the regular season for either team

In the playoffs

Spring top 5 Houston team

Carroll top 2 DFW team

Northshore top Houston team

Desoto top 5 DFW team

You're a complete buffoon with nothing to back your stance up.  I'm sure you'll tell everyone how great Eisenhower and Corsicana are huh

A much tougher schedule my ass

They played the same teams in their district twice.  Let's take a look at these teams

Longview 2nd round loser

REL 2nd round loser

John Tyler no playoffs

Lufkin 24 Plano 19

Lufkin 26 Westfield 19(OT)

Lufkin 27 Trinity 23(Trailed 23-0)

Lufkin 38 Westlake 24 another comeback

Lufkin was hardly a dominant team and you saying their schedule was much tougher is a joke

Houston Madison's Vince Young came out the same year as Lufkin's Reggie McNeal. Young was the #1 player in the nation in 2001.

Lufkin's Reggie McNeal beat Westlake 38- 24 in the State Champ game.

Madison's Vince Young lost to Westlake in the Semifinals 48-42.

Football was just better in Texas in the year 2001.

Oh, who is Duncanville's QB? Right, they don't even need one!

A Houston Legend

A three-year starter, he was named the Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year in 2001, his senior year. That season, Young accounted for 3819 yards of total offense and 59 total TDs.

Young led Madison into the playoffs in ’01 and they scored 269 points in five games:

Defeated Houston Yates         64-13

Defeated Katy                         40-21

Defeated Northshore             61-58

Defeated Hightower               56-22

Lost to Austin Westlake          48-42 (semifinals)

Once again,  what are they gonna do upfront?

Do you believe Lufkin would be able to block Duncanville

2001: Lufkin 38, Westlake 24

Westlake couldn’t follow up a scintillating semifinal win over Houston Madison against Lufkin in Houston’s Astrodome in the Class 5A Division II title game. Touted Lufkin quarterback Reggie McNeil had a hand in four touchdowns as the Panthers rallied from an early 21-3 lead. An explosive Chap offense led by quarterback Chad Schroeder and Scott Ballew entered the game averaging 47.6 points in the playoffs. However, Westlake couldn’t sustain its hot start.

Westlake QB Chad Schroeder signed with Texas A&M.

This weekend North Shore and Duncanville will battle in the NO NAME QB BOWL........these teams remind of the South Panola, MS> teams, only some of those bullying South Panola teams had some beastly athletic QBs..

Westlake beat San Antonio Madison 31-28 in overtime, before beating Houston Madison in another down to the wire game.

Your entire argument hangs on a QB.

Westlake has always scored a lot.  They play in a terrible region and area.

What a loaded team that Westlake was.  No ranked guys on defense

I don't think this clown has even watched Bailey play.

Bailey is pretty smooth, he just needs another year to get physically stronger. He'll be the key to Northshore winning or losing. He's a sophomore in age but he has Frosh experience still and unlike against LT he'll be put in spots where taking a sack or throwing the ball away will be the best play.  We'll see if he does that or if he tries to do to much and turns the ball over

Have you ever watched or seen those 6A South Panola teams, of course that was way before the "internet age"....

Watch North Shore and Duncanville this weekend and you will see South Panola. Probably won't see any freaky ATHed QBs though, but you will see some big dudes that look impressive from the stands and on TV.

You're the buffoon trying to use one guy and say they'll win just because of him

Duncanville has produced 8 NFL players....and has 1 Texas State Championship (1998)....

Lufkin has 17 NFL players and has 1 Texas State Championship (2001)....

Keke Coutee WR HOU,IND 2018 2021
Erik McCoy OL NOR 2019 2021
Dez Bryant WR DAL,BAL 2010 2020
Don Muhlbach C DET 2004 2020
Jorvorskie Lane FB MIA,TAM 2012 2015
Carrington Byndom CB CAR 2014 2014
Rex Hadnot G-C MIA,CLE,ARI,SDG 2004 2012
Bryan Gilmore WR ARI,MIA,SFO 2000 2007
Terrence Kiel DB SDG 2003 2006
Reggie McNeal QB CIN 2006 2006
Jacoby Shepherd DB STL,NYJ,DET 2000 2003
Bruce Alexander DB DET,MIA 1989 1993
T.J. Turner DE-NT MIA 1986 1992
Anthony Coleman DB DAL 1987 1987
Benny Barnes DB DAL 1972 1982
Everett Little G TAM 1976 1976
Joe Robb DE-LB PHI,STL,DET 1959 1971

None of that means anything, but it will be funny if North  Shore beats Duncanville after all this "message board chatter and homerism".

And, unless there are a lot of busted coverages, TOs and flags the North Shore and Duncanville game "could" be a 14-13 type game or similar.

I agree. That’s where I put my trust in Kay and his staff to have him making the best decisions if he gets into tough situations.
