As someone that knows Lancaster hasn't had a decent season since 2017.  I say this wholeheartedly and in fun speculation:

No chance in hell this happens...get this BS out of here.

It’s not Lancaster it’s Paraclete…a private school in Lancaster.I would agree however that they should never beat a top 10 team from any football state

C E Byrd, really?

Who would have ever thunk Alexandria Senior would get mention before West Monroe...

Talked to coach Arledge a couple days ago, could be an interesting season 😉

That goofball just added Alexandria......they weren't there this morning.

West Monroe gonna bring it this year?

They do know Suggs retired at Byrd right?

I hope the Alexandria vs West Monroe game is streamed now.

Just looking at the Florida list I saw a lot of eyebrow raising selections but it will get corrected as some of those teams crash and burn themselves right out of the rankings

Which quarter of a game between Berkeley Prep and Lakeland would Lakeland put a running clock on BP? 1st? 2nd? Or, god forbid, 3rd?

I don't see it.

Berkeley Prep beat Victory Christian by six points. VC is a de facto JV team for Lakeland, coached almost exclusively by ex-Dreadnaughts. Two of their better 2020 players will slide into backup roles for Lakeland this year. Even in a plague year, where Lakeland had their worst team in 28 years, Lakeland beats VC.

Regardless, I’m taking about this and any other non-plague year.

Considering I have the two teams separated by about 10 spots I would be shocked if that were to happen but I don't think they actually play

But then again many people bitched about where I placed Lakeland in the poll last year but never acknowledged me being right for not having Lakeland in the top 25 so people should just take my rankings for what they are, more accurate than 99% of the people can do for Florida

And Columbia put up 21 points on TCA while AHP scored 0 against TCA

There will always be examples of teams playing certain teams better than others just because of matchups (which is what people on these boards tell me all the time)

I criticized you for having Auburndale and Lake Gibson ahead of Lakeland last year, not for having 25 other teams in general ahead of them. Lakeland beat Lake Gibson, who was clearly the only other strong-ish team in the county.

Again, one plague-ridden season should not be seen as a glimpse of the future. Wait until August, look at the rosters and then look at the results. The plague made many things very weird, and very atypical.

It was the same way with Columbia but most people want to inaccurately claim they can't compete with good teams even though how many teams in the state of Florida have beaten TCA multiple times in the past decade?

How many teams have double digit wins over Bolles home and away in the state?

Average teams don't beat those schools

I remember you specifically saying that I had Lakeland WAY too low in the poll

If you say so.

Berkeley Prep has some nice players.

Lakeland might or might not win but kidding about running-clocks is just that. Kidding.

In any non-plague year, Lakeland would be a minimum 35 point favorite, which is the running clock margin. In Florida, the running clock is unusually aggressive, to the point where once it kicks in, the game is effectively over.

Let me help you out here: The plague year is over. Don’t use it to inform predictions for normal years.

I use a lot of factors for my rankings

Past seasons is only a small part of it but if I apply that rule to Lakeland it will apply to EVERY team

Lakeland isn't gonna get a free pass but then drag a team like Columbia for their struggles last year but I'll be sure to remind this when I do release the first poll of the season that everything will be applied down the middle

I haven’t suggested Lakeland should have any ranking at all. I acknowledge they had a poor season, with only one win over a quality team.

I’m just pointing out that there are several teams getting mention that, in the reality which we will see in a matter of weeks, are not remotely as close in talent. The plague year should not be held as the basis for sweeping conclusions about the state of a program.
