So you are saying when CE Byrd (Shreveport) beat Longview in 2015 it was a "special".

Longview is ranked #7 in the Texas Dynasty Ratings since 2003.

7 Longview (TX) Texas 5A-1 Region II District 7 5A-1 195-44 (196-43 on the field) 97-10 181-41 154-37 111-44 190-44 60.7 41.4 1741-108

You just keep coming up with new ways to prove you are an idiot.

I don't understand any of this thread anymore....

By that logic, it's only fair that it be deemed a great win for CE Byrd.

I really believe Temple can beat them. 7 returning starters on offense and 8 on defense 6 of those guys on defense will be entering year 3 starting. 3 transfers but 2 were previously from Temple and then a coaches kid likely will be QB. One of them has an Arkansas offer and plays DB the other Texas A&M really likes at WR but no offer yet. Then add in one of the top athletes in America in Harrison-Pilot. Its going to be close no doubt in my mind.

Hmmm interesting.  We’ll soon see

I have no problem with the loss to BG

but let’s not act as if CH was a team of the decade, it wasn’t one of their best teams.

There are over 1,200 teams in Texas that play 11 man football. And Cedar Hill was the 5th best team in TX in 2016. That’s pretty damn good. Especially considering that they only lost to 6A champs DeSoto that year (x2).

The same comparison applies to Westlake that year. Texas has 245 teams that play 6A football and Westlake was the 11th best team. Only losing to 6A champs Lake Travis that year (x2).

Can we say the same for BG or were they a special team?  Was ‘16 BG one of their best ever? If so, were they one of the best ever from NV?

In hind sight yes this was a special team. The same kids from Gorman that beat CA state finalist Centennial as sophomores in 2014. Were the same kids that beat SJB, STA, Cedar Hill, Cocoa and Kahuku in 2016.

once again if Ehlinger played we arent talking about liberty.  They would not have stopped him.  He was just as physical and big as the DV QB a few years back.  Honest assessments need to be honest

Hamstring injuries, broken bones, cuts and bruises it’s all part of the game.

Of course it is and had it happened to Martell and they suffered a loss it most definitely would have been used as a reason for the loss.  Why? It’s still relevant regardless of it being a part of the game

the only place that doesn’t happen is on prepgridiron with OTHER team’s injuries.  😂

Just for the record Westlake is only 79-54 vs Top 1000 teams since 2003....while respectable, it's far from great honestly. Not sure some of you are looking at these rankings correctly.

Katy is 227-23 vs Top 1000 teams as an example.

Westlake is beating up on a lot of very bad football teams and going 79-54 vs Top 1000 teams.

11 Westlake (Austin, TX) Texas 6A Region IV District 26 6A 187-55 104-17 186-54 180-49 79-54 175-55 58 38.9 1734-1095

Yes, this was the best BG team ever and the best ever from NV.  It is what it is, no reason to be bashful about admitting it.  Again, this is about honest assessment

Gorman limped through the early part of the 2016 season. With Biaggio Ali Walsh out for several games and with Tyjon Lindsay also out until before the STA game. Two big cogs for that offense out along with several other players getting banged up. They still won all of those big games.

Dude stop, Lindsay was a transfer and never played before that season.  And there is a difference between a RB and a QB who directs every play.  Again, stop the nonsense, it’s only on this site where rationality goes out the window to prove a point.

had martell been out the entire season, you don’t win the MNC.  Probably lose to STA and SJB

Tyjon played versus Centennial in 2014. Along with Alex Perry, Haskell Garrett, Bubba Bolden, etc. All as Sophomores at Gorman.

When you start to sling out the ifs, ands or buts in a discussion it just doesn’t look good on your part.

Just be a good sport and congratulate Gorman and Liberty in their wins and move on.

STA beating skyline is not a top 150 loss.  It’s not a hard concept except for a goof trying to create a narrative, steele was 66th in Texas, jesuit was way out of the top 150.

I think he's talking about from the Texas perspective.

STA was a top 150 opponent and they lost.

And so forth.

Allen over viera, Utah East, ECA (2)

Westlake over  niceville

skyline over ridgeway and cocoa

Duncanville over ECA

trinity over eastern Christian

Desoto over eastern Christian

Good grief.

Guy doesn't want to count STA-Skyline at the Herbstreit but wants to count Allen vs. a collection of slapdicks.

I believe @Atticus Finch would agree and inform you that Westlake wasn’t that great in 2016.

Liberty 21 - Westlake 14           9/2

Lake Travis 49 - Westlake 7       10/7

Lake Travis 51 - Westlake 3         12/2

Certainly Westlake sucked as the loss Liberty can attest.

But that's not the relevant question.

The relevant question is where were they ranked and how did they perform in Texas.

Their only two losses in Texas were to a 6A state champion (Lake Travis) and the objective measures had them in or near the top 10 (calpreps 11th, Massey 10th).

He hadn’t played a snap in two years for BG, his impact wasn’t missed early in the ‘16 season

All joking aside, hopefully NV can win another meaningful game so they don’t have to reminisce about beating non state champions WL and CH.  until then, enjoy!

Again you are either lying or are clueless about Tyjon’s playing time at Gorman. He was a big time play maker in high school. And he played varsity for three years at Gorman.

The point is that Texas is viewed as the kings of HSFB. But little tiny Nevada with only 72 teams in all classes that play 11 man football kicked your butt!!!

Maybe Texas will win a relevant OOS game one day?

I was thinking on someone else, you’re correct on Lindsay

😂 yeah you kicked our butt, the stars aligned that year for you all for sure,  a historic BG team and an untimely injury.  The football gods were looking out for you all that day.
