I know, I know, The same goes for CH and Westlake in 2016, right? Smh.

I believe @Atticus Finch would agree and inform you that Westlake wasn’t that great in 2016.

Liberty 21 - Westlake 14           9/2

Lake Travis 49 - Westlake 7       10/7

Lake Travis 51 - Westlake 3         12/2

You would probably have a case if they didn’t get beat by the same Lake Travis team twice🙂

They didn’t win state either, Ch was at least competitive, Westlake got boat raced by LT. WL didn’t have Ehlinger for most of the year either…major loss.  Honest assessors understand things like that

Westlake is still a Top 10, brand name in TX. 187-55 since 2003 proves this.

This is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard!  Injuries to best players is relevant at ever level. Again, legit assessors understand this simple concept

At the end of the 2016 season every poll had Cedar Hill as a top 5 Texas school. And Westlake was just outside of the top 10 in Texas.

Yes injuries are a part of the game. If you played the game you know that you will get injured at one point or another.

Skyline touts the following 12 ballers as notable NFL alums: Tim Jackson, Dante Jones, Allen Rossum, Antonio Wilson, Josh Bell, Mikail Baker, Mike Morgan, Steve Williams, Mike Davis, Corey Nelson, Pau Dawson and Aaron Brewer. No matter how you slice and dice it's also a Top 40 program in the history of TX HSFB thanks to its 157-60 record since 2003.

I don't know about Skyline being top 40 all time. That's a stretch. They had one small run under Samples and that's it. 0 titles. Dallas Carter yes absolutely. Could they beat Skyline right now ? No they cant but Skyline has that much catching up to do. Tough sale honestly

I have no problem with the loss to BG, but let’s not act as if CH was a team of the decade, it wasn’t one of their best teams.  Can we say the same for BG or were they a special team?  Was ‘16 BG one of their best ever? If so, were they one of the best ever from NV?

once again if Ehlinger played we arent talking about liberty.  They would not have stopped him.  He was just as physical and big as the DV QB a few years back.  Honest assessments need to be honest

Much respect for those teams that laid the ground work for our great sport. Austin Reagan, Permian, Waco, Wichita Falls, Stratford, Plano, etc. But we're in the 21st Century now. What you do vs the likes of MD, IMG, BG, STA, SJP, etc. is now the modern-day barometer of success.

I gotta push back here just a little. Just because you're not competing for a MNC doesn't mean you're not a successful HS program. Because at the end of the day you can only truly win your division or your title. We don't have a national playoff. Yeah I agree we can usually narrow it down to who might be the best but not always. The teams that are the IT school now may not be 25-30 years from now.

Agree 100%. The MNC gets a lot of attention here on the national board but like I said yesterday, if we go undefeated and win state then the goal was met and we handled business. IMG and Frances are the only teams that begin the year with the goal of winning a MNC and that’s because they can’t win anything else.

MD won its second football MNC exactly 25 years ago 😉 But I agree with this one too.

At the end of the 2016 season CH finished #5 in TX (and #36 in USA) and WL #11/85. Those are awesome final rankings in arguably the best HSFB state in America.

Did you see that link from an old paper I posted with the national polls from 1994. MD finished #1

Yeah them loosing Bear is what is making me lean Longview and I don't think Ryan has anybody for Jalen Hale.

Probably not. If they can put pressure on the QB though, that helps.  It’s gonna boil down to line play, can LV match them in the trenches.

So you are saying when CE Byrd (Shreveport) beat Longview in 2015 it was a "special".

Longview is ranked #7 in the Texas Dynasty Ratings since 2003.

7 Longview (TX) Texas 5A-1 Region II District 7 5A-1 195-44 (196-43 on the field) 97-10 181-41 154-37 111-44 190-44 60.7 41.4 1741-108

You just keep coming up with new ways to prove you are an idiot.

I don't understand any of this thread anymore....

They do, it’s a game of the week for sure.

what’s your prediction for temple vs WL?

I really believe Temple can beat them. 7 returning starters on offense and 8 on defense 6 of those guys on defense will be entering year 3 starting. 3 transfers but 2 were previously from Temple and then a coaches kid likely will be QB. One of them has an Arkansas offer and plays DB the other Texas A&M really likes at WR but no offer yet. Then add in one of the top athletes in America in Harrison-Pilot. Its going to be close no doubt in my mind.
