So Players want to play

Those who are opting out want to play but don't believe their college or conference is up to par on regulations and medical readiness.

Thoughts ?

I also see positive out of this no matter of the season goes on or not.

1.Players are working towards a union

2. Looks like conference realignments are coming

3. People are realizing how sports impact the lives of many

Even Joe burrow said if this happened last year he would have beeb working a 9-5 right now.

Everyone pretty much WANTS to play or watch the sport be played.

The issue is it isn't plausible to play football and follow the guidelines. The schools and NCAA can't possibly do enough to make the sport compatible with the guidelines. The nature of the sport won't allow it so it's not exactly fair to pass blame onto the schools or conferences for something that is primarily affected by the nature of the sport rather than the abilities of the entities being blamed.

Not sure if its true or not but Ohio state Clemson Georgia and Alabama have all said that they have the proper guidelines and equipment and that all other schools should use. One thing I havent seen mentioned when it comes to quarantine they could use the dorms as bubbles. That way players would only leave for practice and games. Just a thought though.

It's not a bubble once the team travels for an away game. University presidents are all scared of the liability. The coaches and players want to do what they know how to do but I don't think they are going to be allowed to.

From dorm to dorm they can use the dorms just like hotels all big campuses have old dorms they don't use. Dorm to practice, dorm to eat, dorm to game, game to home team open dorm for night after the game, and back to your teams dorms the next day.

Im just throwing it out there not trying to direct anyone. Its just what we did at mississippi state years ago when I went. We went to the dorms, next morning bus from dorms to get breakfast, and after morning practice back to the dorms, and games later in the day and that's what we did on repeat.

of course they want to play, lol, Fields and Lawrence of all players are looking at exactly that; 9-5.

So what happens now since the Big 10 cancelled; do we see a mass exodus from OSU players to other schools in conferences that will play OR do we see a "poaching" season by coaches from active conferences  of players in conferences that cancelled?

Transfer Portal blender.

Yup players who are seniors or juniors who need more film before the draft have no choice but to transfer. The NFL will not move the draft.

The thing with liability is that it'll be very difficult to try and pin a covid-19 case on football or any other sport.  With campuses letting students attend classes on campus, live in residence halls, eat at their dining facility, study in their library and hang out in the student center.   in order for the university to be held liable, you have to show that you can do all of those things safely and there's no chance of catching the virus doing other university things and that playing a sport ALONE was the cause of a player getting sick.  It's a virus.  How do you prove where they were infected?

It won't be sports alone. Heck in the world we live in, you just throw as many names as you can in a lawsuit and see what sticks or who settles.
