Perhaps polls should be private :)

I think we we did a pretty good job of avoiding some marshmallow schools.

I mentioned that before in the game thread.

We moved away from Mallard Creek and McGill-Toolen both like they had the plague. Never could see the same things in them the other polls did.

That said, I've seen much better Hoover teams. This is probably a top 50 team.

McGill is not a top 100 team IMO. They'd get slaughtered by Iggy, Colerain, and Wayne.

So a probable top 50 team beat a non-top 100 team 17-7?

Hoover's defense is solid.  You have to have a solid offensive line or you'll get exposed like McGill did last night.  I watched about 12 teams last weekend that would feast on McGill offensive simply because their coaches make no adjustments and they are a soft team overall.  I would say Hoover is a top 100 squad in the back half of the 50.  Just my opinion.

And this annoys you.

Typical.

Facts? where is the fact that they suck.

Hoover may not be a top 25 team I'll agree and top 50 is up for debate.  But they dont suck. a sucky team doesnt win a state championship.

Is it because they have 2 losses to top 25 teams?

You know who else has 2 losses ?

One to a non-top 25 team?

I shouldnt have to say it. I guess they suck too.

I posted that a (in his words) probable top 50 team had beaten a (in his words) not top 100 team, 17-7.

If you think top 50 national teams beat non top 100 teams 17-7 on a regular basis (like Hoover does) then so be it.

You'd be wrong but you're entitled to it.

Proving what we all suspected.

You know nothing about high school football.

There are tons of sucky state champions every year in this country.

They have two losses by 3 scores each.

Then they have wins like this...

23-7, 14-7, 26-8, 31-10, 19-3, 20-0

This is a constant with Hoover. No matter the year. This is who they are, People who understand high school football slot them properly. Those who don't overrate them on a yearly basis.

I don't really know exactly where they should be because I haven't gone through and tried to make a top 100, hence the word "probably", Could be 75, could be 50. Not a whole lot of difference in that range.

MOV is a poor judging factor.  Some teams are very strong defensively and not very strong on offense. They aren't built to blow teams out. Hoover is one of those teams. They are very good on defense and not very good on offense.

Also if you watched the game, McGill had pretty much zero hope of scoring. Hoover must have had near 10 sacks and 17 tackles for losses. Hoover just sat on the lead in the 2nd half and burned the clock.

Some of this is bc of offense... yet the defense remains good enough to beat many other teams. MoV doesnt decide much at all.

The stupid here is so thick.

Good lord.

The amount of stupidity that is posted here on a daily basis is incredible.

And these are people who follow high school football closely. Imagine the rest of the country who supposedly knows less than you.
