New Polls (2016-11-21)

CP's 11 schools in a top 25 comp poll omitted is not a good look Thanksgiving week, hence why I called it a train wreck the other day on the TX board.  The ratings playing field is skewed until other states advance further in states to catch the St. Louis, HI closers.   Fisher's algorithm based ranking system somehow avoids this problem and provides a better poll currently.

Fear not, I reached out to Adam, who will be joining the forum...  Dirty 30 marches on :D.

Horsefly... paging Horsefly.

paitence, grasshopper. You need to be rounding up the Jersey crew

Emails already sent...

with Bosco out there may be less interest than had they won from most Nj guys

terrible timing to try and start up something like this

They had a Hail Mary heave into the end zone correct?   That's how PC won last year's game,  from around 30 yards or so connected for a TD?   There were some stating PC was done once Partridge left for Michigan, but PC has held their own and are doing just fine.

It's the end of the season and the private club was a poll based on power state invitees to rank teams and I picked a handful of guys who based on reading their posts, seemed like good contributors for rest of states.  I recommended a change once solely on a Gardenstateballer post with some interesting injury report news.  If that's not a public poll, what is.  He wasn't even contributing to the poll, but I sure noticed his post... Turned out to be the right call too, barely but it was. :)

Later in the season, less contributed as less interest and time restraints and now it's really down to 2-4 people.  With that said, I hope to see Glorydays on this forum.   What a cool guy.

Adam and I will finalize the remaining polls, but what we will do NOR is list it before posting... we will try to complete tonight and post for review and we'll adjust if the argument sinks in...   (and with all due respect, wtf do you know about TX?)   Fire away, but the zip code deal is boring and stale and as I mentioned prior, the basis of the poll itself was having a power state influence aided by ranking the states by various posters in the respective areas.   Too many marshmallow schools with brand names making it annually... we put a stop to some like never ranking TCA and Armwood, Mallard Creek leaving fast as was NW in SC, with a ban on any other NC or SC rep lol (Kidding but not really).  We f'd up sometimes, sure.    I recommended Valor Christian earlier in the season, #147 and still alive baby, lol.  Yea it was a mistake.

Our weak link moving fwd is Texas as we have no source at the moment.  We lost last week's data and Horsefly recommended an overhaul in the rankings.    So if Sumdude or Horsefly can log in and assist, would be great.   We will try to remember how we had it, but perhaps even better as we dissect it and have your reviews we can have a better product this week.

I know you like to complain a lot and that's fine but we have a poll still in place based on recommendations from guys who follow hsfb pretty well and from all the power states and rest of states covered as well.   Adam and I are just navigating the final descent, and by the way...  this is Adam, who is heading the Dirty 30 currently.

I've won the inaugural pickem and was one of two people in the first 2 years to beat Calpreps after Oct. 1 thru season's end...  so there could be worse choices than Adam and I nearing the finish line... have a look at our upcoming list and fire away.   But just because HSFBAmerica has 2 NJ schools, don't take a viagra pill so quickly.   We'll see how the finals go first. :)

Golf coming with it today! Love the Dirty 30! Adam and you have done a superb job with it.

We definitely need to relocate Horsefly and Sumdude over this way soon. It's only a matter of time. The content on the Texas site is slim to none and slim just LEFT last night. (Oh, and DevilDog and Steeler. Gotta have the household staples)

I would like to know why the HSFBA algorithm has Gorman at #1. But the cal preps algorithm keeps Gorman down at #3?

It might be time for another readjustment at cal preps.

A CA team will ALWAYS be #1 at Cali by years end and most of the year anyway. Ned starts those teams so high they just fed off of each others extra points. He needs to lower CA, no shit, its pretty obvious his numbers lean heavy CA every year. Lower their Total points, lower that whole web of Southern Section teams so they cant "feed" off of each others points so easily. Make them work for it. Hes made it impossible for most states to reach that high. He simply doesnt start other states teams high enough so they cant reach that level. The more highly rated teams around you/that you play... the easier it is to raise yourself... but it all start with Neds starting numbers. It needs to be more realistic.

I can tell you bumped Florida a pretty good bit this year. Lower Ca & Oh and bump a few Southeast states and hed have a better product. Either that or stick to State rankings where his method actually has a chance of success.
