Las Vegas_JC
After tonight's games there are only 16 teams remaining in the UIL playoffs. Both Cedar Hill and Westlake are among those teams. Cementing the Longhorns and Chaps as top 10 teams in TX this year (and last year). Chill and Westlake are both better than these other remaining sweet 16 teams: Atascocita, Round Rock,Cinco Rancho, Cy Ridge, Churchill and Westfield.

Yet they have both been waterboarded by In State teams as well. Westlake has played much of the season without their Superstar QB and Lake Travis had the Geneva Convention intervene to stop the genocide they put on W.L. this year. I know the reason for this little thread you sneaky desert dweller you. I will take Bishop Gorman and Liberty for $400.00 Alex. As Ehlinger watched from the sideline, his surgically repaired left knee taped up, Westlake fell to Liberty High School of Henderson, Nevada, 21-14 at Chaparral Stadium. Back-up quarterback Matthew Gense made his first varsity start for the injured Ehlinger — a Texas Longhorns pledge — and completed 10 of 21 passes for 106 yards. Overall, Westlake finished with 209 yards, most of that coming on the ground from running back Nakia Watson, who carried 22 times for 125 yards. “Matt is going to be fine,” said Westlake coach Todd Dodge, whose team rose to No. 1 this week in the Associated Press Class 6A state poll after upsetting Katy 32-29 behind Ehlinger to open the season. “Tough spot to come into and get your first high school start against a really, really good team. I’m proud of Matt. There is going to be a lot of learning, and I thought he got better as he went on.” Lake Travis vs. same team after that qb had a few games under his belt. What was billed as a showdown between state ranked and storied high school programs quickly became one-sided in favor of Lake Travis. The Cavaliers took advantage of their defense playing stifling defense and the quick strike offense quickly put together two touchdowns. Westlake’s offense struggled without star quarterback Sam Ehlinger, who left the game with a thumb injury in the first quarter. This limited Westlake’s high-octane offense, giving Lake Travis a vital step in the foot race for victory. The final score was a lopsided 49-7, Lake Travis leaving the field victorious. “We honestly thought we were going to put 40 or 50 on them.” Cavs starting quarterback Charlie Brewer said. The Cavaliers entered the game with confidence born from their near decade of dominance. Brewer’s prediction proved to be correct. Both teams look can look forward to another heated gridiron contest next year as the rivalry continues. Top 10 Teams don't get rag dolled like that do they. Nope they were not top 10 in either of those games without that kid who is back.
DevilDog
The number 11 team in Nevada just lost in the Class 4A regional Semi-Finals Faith Lutheran to B.G. 58 - 10 A bonafide NV power was beaten to a pulp in Nevada by Texas Private power with a superstar QB St. Pius X 42 - 10 this year. Seems St. Pius would be a threat to play for the State Championship in Nevada. ST. PIUS IS 11 - 0 and playing Bishop Dunne tonight in the playoff of TAPPS DIV I. Bishop Dunne has more Talent and could win. Depth But the good play wasn’t consistent. That may be because Faith Lutheran was battling more than St. Pius X and its 6-foot-5 bluechip recruit quarterback, sophomore Grant Gunnell. Play was stopped for nearly an hour midway through the second quarter because of lightning, and when the players resumed, the first-game excitement was missing. Faith Lutheran surrendered 35 unanswered points — a few touchdowns before the delay; a few after — to force the mercy rule of the running clock. To Faith Lutheran’s credit, it didn’t quit. Trolling Texas style. Westlake and Cedar Hill will most likely be getting ready for Basketball late Saturday night. Liberty and Bishop Gorman are playing for State.

Haha I like your logic of 16 teams left are the 16 best teams. Using that reasoning Laredo United (who Westlake just beat) was one of the top 32! Maybe top 320! Horsefly
Here are the top texas teams that should be considered in a top 15 ranking, regardless of classification. allen desoto lake travis north shore lamar woodlands klein collins abilene SAC sachse cedar hill westlake steele cedar ridge manvel ryan atascocita ridge point there is no guarantee westlake and cedar hill are automatically in the top 10 at this stage. (Personally I can see cedar hill inside a top 10, but not westtlake. That 49-7 butt kicking is a problem for me in placing them that high, they've beaten no one beside katy in week 1)

It is always funny when a poster from a football power like Nevada tells Texans how to rank their football teams. Rank the teams you just listed 1-15. Now take the top 15 teams in NV. How many does NV win. ONE Maybe.
SumDude
Las Vegas is still trying to give merit to a national recruiting machine beating a DFW public school and their #1 public school beating Westlake (a non-Top 15 Texas school), who will be (once again) destroyed by LT. Kinda pathetic!
