Louisiana is a non power football state. They don't have the depth, coaching and quality Texas has. And Texas can match and most of the times surpass their athleticism.

Why do you think Evangel can get clobbered by 3 oos teams but run the table in Lousiana? It's a whole different animal

There's no objective standard in which University Lab is #13 in the entire country.

It's charity. That's all it is.

Yet we have to endure the inane ramblings of people like Omaha Vol and whiteshoes who insist that these teams are elite when everybody knows that they're not.

ULAB is the 2018 version of 2012 John Curtis, minus the half shirts pictures.

You display several logical shortcomings just in this single sentence. It's no wonder you're terrible at ranking high school football teams.

First, they beat Zachary 49-27 and were only up 28-21 at halftime and 35-27 in the 4th quarter. In other words, not a curbstomping and it's laughable that you would portray it as that.

Second, they beat Catholic 41-21 and were only up 20-14 in the second quarter and 27-14 at halftime. In other words, also not a curbstomping.

And even if they were, it doesn't prove anything that they did so to "two of the top teams" in Louisiana. That's a meaningless label. Teams are either good or not.

Catholic and Zachary would be nobodies in many other states and failing to put a running clock on either of them wouldn't get anybody into the top 15.

But with this small Louisiana school, people are charitable and feel that they have to make a silly pound-for-pound argument.

Just tell the truth and say that you want ranking diversity. Don't lie and claim that you have some objective standard because you clearly don't.

You like the rest of the poll, los? ✏️

lol

They're doing well enough that they don't have to change the subject when they're unable to make a counter-argument.

Question for you.  How do you feel about STA going to the GEICO championship if/when they win the state title?   For me, I wouldn't mind seeing them play SFA or the GA state champ.

They also lost to both teams along the way and finished 1-3 in their conference.

Nothing has to earn anybody the right to be ranked anywhere.

They won both games pretty much on luck (DeMatha) and potentially a bad call (St. John's).

But that "has to earn them" a top 100 ranking?

Silliness.

What do you say about MC beating Carol City the 2nd time. Was that a fluke and should not be counted

Central won by two scores, not a hail mary on the last play.

Please tell me that you understand the difference between the first and the second.

What you are missing in the Gonzaga vs  Dematha game, was that Gonzaga was down 3 td's, and came back.  Usually the team that can overcome a poor start like that and win is the better team. The hail Mary came after Dematha got a Hail Mary kickoff return for a td., which was kind of flukish also. Gonzaga, champions of one of the best leagues in America, is definitly top 50 !

I didn't miss it. I just put it in its proper context. Gonzaga was getting handled. That's evidence in itself that they're not good enough to be #37.

Then they came back and still would've lost without luck.

Gonzaga isn't #37 in any objective sense. It's nonsense through and through.

Sure a kickoff return can be a fluke but it's a normal football play that DeMatha made.

And you already made the salient point: DeMatha was winning the entire game.

Gonzaga winning the way they did is a luck and a fluke.

But some clueless bozo thinks that luck and fluke is just the kind of stuff that the #37 team in America should be made of.
