On a side note, Arp might simultaneously be the greatest and dumbest name for a town ever.

DevilDog
DeMarvion Overshown, Cowboys linebackers turning heads with early-season speed Story by Calvin Watkins, The Dallas Morning News FRISCO – The Cowboys opened the regular season in a nickel defense against the Browns with linebackers Eric Kendricks and DeMarvion Overshown starting. When the game ended, the pair had 17 tackles, two sacks and one interception. That’s right, 17 tackles between two players. “I like it; he’s got some crazy talent,” Kendricks said of Overshown. “He’s learning, too. This is some of his live reps like that and I’m very happy with what we’ve done so far and I’m very excited to keep building with him.” Overshown missed his rookie season last year with a torn ACL. In his first regular-season game, he was impressive with nine tackles and one sack. “Yeah, he’s got good speed and we use him a couple of times as a spy so that’s him doing that was big for us,” defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said. “You know, once the guy [quarterback Deshaun Watson] got out of the pocket, [it] allows the defensive line to kind of turn it loose. You don’t have to worry about pass-rush lanes so much. And, you know, we got somebody covered for [Watson] and some juice.” In the base package, rookie strongside linebacker Marist Liufau didn’t play much, just nine snaps. Damone Clark, who took over as the middle linebacker last season when Leighton Vander Esch went down with a neck injury, picked up 26 snaps in his debut. Nick Vigil, who was elevated from the practice squad, earned 25 snaps. Most of those snaps came when Kendricks was out for dehydration. When you discuss the highlights of the defense in Week 1, the speed of the linebackers is something to notice, particularly Overshown’s. “I knew he was that quick, I’ve seen it,” Kendricks said. “It’s different to have that game speed and trust yourself to have it and have your instincts carry over on the field.”
