You learned two things real quick. Don't switch card punch *type* in the middle of a deck as the compile would throw up. You could change *machines* as long as it was the same type. Second, make sure you put sequence numbers on your cards. They weren't required but you were a dropped deck or a smart alec push away from having to manually re-sequence your deck. No fun at 4:00am when you were submitting a multi hundred card deck to the I/O counter to get in line to have your program run for a class at 8:00am. I'm sure there are a few out there that remember that.

She starred on weekly TV comedy show (Rowin and Martin) in the late 1960's......no fantasizing I've heard stories from old professors about what it was like to work at a university during the sexual revolution. It sounds like it was a pretty groovy time to be a man.

I took fortran and cobol and then to satisfy a degree requirement had to take basic. Long story. Anyway, my basic prof was in shock at the programs I was turning in. After learning structured languages, I was writing structured basic programs and he wasn't used to that. He was used to spaghetti code that was hard to follow. I still remember my print routines always started with line 5000 back in the days when you had to track where the print head was on the paper.

Long live the king! One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain I know St. Peter won't call my name Never an honest word And that was when I ruled the world
