6A girls 4 x 100 -  I will make prediction that Desoto will challenge for the national record next year.  They are returning every leg with 2 of them in 10th and another in 9th grade this year.  This group could seriously challenge the all time record IMHO if not next year what about the year after??

Not to mention this is smoking fast race

When the new national ranking in 4 x 100 are completed they will look like this unless something big took place in California this week or maybe somewhere else.

Texas will have 8 of the top 10 best times produced this year so far.

Florida will have the #4 Spot

and California will be sharing the 8th spot with TX team

This will make up the 10 best times produced so far this year.

There is a couple of California teams that could make some noise in this event as they still have up to 4 chances to produce times. - Rancho Verde Cal produced 40.56 today and If I am not mistaking they have 4 more chances to improve.  California doesn't finish until like June 3rd.  I could see this team in the top 3 by the end of their season.  Right now they are the only California team that has ran under 41 flat.

Sha'Carri Richardson from Dallas Carter Class 4A  is only Junior and she will be top 1 or 2 sprinters in the nation returning next year.

This year she has the 2nd best wind legal 100m 11.28

and #7 national best in the 200m wind legal 23.48

If she continues to develop she could do big this next this time!

Anybody catch the 2nd leg of the Diamond League (China) broadcast on NBCSN earlier this evening ?  19 yr old Noah Lyles ran a PR 19.90 to beat a decent field in the 200m. In years past UTube carried these international meets very well. Some clips have foreign speaking commentators, but you can at least see the events. This year all Diamond League events will be replayed on NBCSN. My local cable company (Spectrum) includes this channel. I believe others can download the NBC app and watch the upcoming meets. Next one is in two weeks at Eugene, Oregon. Not sure if it is the Prefontaine Classic, but it is at that same stadium.

Each event at the Texas state meet includes 9 team or athletes -  Here the catch - it's never the 9 best

For example Class 6A -  We have 32 districts that are divided equally into 4 regions.-  leading up to the state meet we have district meets - athletes that qualify move on to Area meets - then if they qualify the athletes move on to regional meets - Then the top 2 from each region qualify for the state meet plus the next best from the regional meet.  So at the end of the day not all the regions are equal so their kids in some cases getting knocked out in the area meets and again in regional meets that are faster than the qualifiers from some of the regions.

Port Arthur Memorial is lane 4 - exchange 2 and 3 was incredibly smooth-  It's hard to see exchange 1

Just incredible team work by these boys in both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 at the state meet.

This is only the 3rd time in US history 4 High School boys from one school has ran sub 40 -  Tip your hat to this incredible team.  these boys just kept getting better and better all year!!!!  39.80

I am ready for stacked teams from Texas and Florida to compete head to head with the JAM boys!!!!!  I am not talking schools - I am talking states!  With solid coaching we have the runners to compete and beat the JAM IMHO

Port Arthur Memorial moves stick around in 39.80

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

The quality of the sprint relays in Texas -- always exceptional -- hit near all-time highs Friday at the Texas UIL state championships in Austin.

Ireon Brown, Kary Vincent, Xavier Hull and Deandre Angelle clocked 39.80 to win the Class 5A 4x100 relay.

That's the first sub-40 performance by a U.S. high school team since 2001 and the second fastest in history behind the squad from Wyatt TX in 1998 that ran 39.76.

Manvel was right behind Memorial with No, 6 all-time 40.08 in a race that saw an astonishing six teams go under 41 seconds.

Then, they did again in the 4x200 relay. Port Arthur Memorial ran 1:23.52, second only to Wyatt's 1998 national high school record 1:23.31. And Manvel was again second in 1:24.05 -- No. 10 all-time.

Vincent later came back and won the Class 5A 200 meters in 20.71 seconds.

Relay points are double in Texas, so the relay victory was worth 20 points and Vincent's 200 is worth 10.

The state meet concludes Saturday.

Just 26 collegiate teams have run quicker than 39.80 thus far in outdoor 2017.   5 schools ran sub 39.

https://www.iaaf.org/records/toplists/relays/4x100-metres-relay/outdoor/men/senior/2017

Calabar HS ran 39 flat at the Penn Relays, #22 best time in the world this year per IAAF site  (the same day the country of Jamaica ran 39.01  losing to USA  LOL... OK not their best 4 but still a WTF?!)

What was you guys saying about wind legal times? 7 of the top 10 nationally!!!  Funny thing is - The fastest guy on this list could be the 10th best.

I truly believe had he not pulled up hurt in the 100m at the state meet - he would be sitting here today with the #1 time.  Sheffield ran 10.39 in the prelims and then came back in the finals to run 10.07 with 3.8

some pretty damn good 11th grade sprinters on this list!

Now that the dust has settled a little bit and It's late in the track season and all the best teams have been running -

The small country of Texas has 52 of the top 100 4x100 relay times

Vs The USA who has 48

Not to mention the country of Texas has 8 of the top 10 which includes the 3 best so far.

:)

FL takes sprints, TX takes hurdles and relays.  Track portion is tight tallying points if you remove distance lol.  Field is brutal.

While I believe Texas would dominate the track meet vs anyone.

Until they are all lined up on the same track - Nobody knows what is going to happen.

I would really like to see Florida and Texas all Star Relay teams battle head to head at the Great Southwest Meet next week.

14 yr old Tamari Davis from FL won an elite national HS 200 meter race yesterday in 23.21!   Crazy talent to follow for years to come.

NCAA regionals Fred Kerley (Texas A&M) broke the NCAA record in the 400 with a 43.79 yesterday!

CA - 89

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Interesting results - between Florida, GA, and CA -  Cali is simply struggling - If this trend keeps up you will see and notice the level of football drop (except for the recruited up private schools) - You will also start to see the total number of division 1 recruits continue to drop.

Georgia numbers are right with Florida - These totals listed here build upon one another and while Florida has few more schools doing better at the start by the end GA actually has bigger number -  So I had just listed number of teams running under 43 flat in each state GA would have beat Florida - In the end GA is right with Florida across the board with a little more depth in this event.

Georgia created these numbers with only 436 schools posting times in this event

Florida had 509

Cal had 1065

Texas had 1215
