abbatt
OdbCle, Here is some insight...... Nazarath Academy IL beat Lutheran North 20-6 in the season opener even without their starting RB ,who was kicked off the team several days before the game. They held LN to 112 total yds. Last week Homewood-Flossmoor IL beat Lutheran North 34-14...out-scoring them 20-0 in the 2nd half. Lutheran North found out that they are competitive playing 3 tough teams tuff on the road. Coletrain06
Colerain lost their best OLinemen 6'5 300+ Rusty Feth with a torn meniscus for the season in the first half last week against X. Huge loss. They played nice against a very good D Front in Princeton tonight..... D played stellar, giving up 2 TDs that mattered......both on single long plays..........first in a torrential downpour off a turnover after fumbling 3 consecutive snaps.....2nd on a hail Mary before half targeting our small DB. Lutheran North does not appear to be a very good football team and LaSalle barely beat them. How they match up and lasalle hasn’t found an offense. They also for some reason always play shitty oos. I think where they lack is strategy. Coaches don't seem to have a plan designed for their opponent, nor do they adjust.
alsime1
Looks like either Mentor or Hoban are the early picks for best team in Ohio. Just hoping St. Ed gets another crack at Mentor.

Just hoping St. Ed gets another crack at Mentor. If Ed's puts it all together, they can be right there with Mentor and Hoban. As great as Mentor has been, Ed's exposed their weaknesses in week one by going vertical against their secondary. I hope the Ed's defense continues to progress because I'd love to see that rematch in the playoffs. Big test against Elder next weekend down in the Pit where they have struggled in years past. Hoban was in a battle with Wayne in the first half trailing 27-28, but flexed their muscle in the second half and shut Wayne down. That was the case against Ignatius as well. If they are clicking for a full game, there may not be a better team in Ohio. I'd also like to see if Ignatius uses this win against Euclid as a launching pad. They have the defense to go deep in the playoffs, and if their o-line can get it together, the offense has skill players that can move the chains.
